A £150 million fund was created by National Grid from funds
acquired from selling off the gas network. It allowed local
authorities and registered social landlords to apply for funding
to:
1.install gas central heating systems into fuel-poor urban
homes
2.install non-gas solutions into fuel-poor rural homes
3.create or expand national or regional programmes which bring
together relevant organisations and charities to promote energy
efficiency and/or health related programmes in relation to fuel
poverty.
The decision to submit a bid was approved at the HAS Executive
meeting on 18th July 2018 as a key decision.
