Purpose:

The purpose of the report is to recommend the procurement of a preferred backup solution.

The decision required is to procure the preferred option.

Decision:

It has been decided to contract Celerity Limited to provide a managed service for the councils M365 data backups.

This will be a direct award via CCS Framework RM6100 Technology Services 3, in order to procure a Microsoft 365 Backup Solution.

The proposed contract duration is:
• Initial term: 1 October 2023 – 30 September 2028

The estimated whole life cost is £445,101

Reasons for the decision:

This approach represents best value for the Authority as meets the current Microsoft 365 backup requirements of the Authority as well as provide this as a managed service at an equivalent price or less to other options.

Alternative options considered:

Alternative solutions were evaluated with 5 backup solutions shortlisted for a detailed evaluation and vendor led demonstration.

Those solutions were presented to the Solutions Review Board, which approved the recommended solution.
