To seek approval to begin a consultation on a

2024.
To approve the consultation on a proposal that
the Council should close Fountains Earth, Lofthouse Church of
England Endowed (Voluntary Controlled) Primary School from 31 March
2024.
There were no new starters in the reception
class in September 2023 and currently have no pupils on roll at
Fountains Earth primary school. A monitoring of the current number
and proposed numbers shows 23/24 – 11 pupils; 24/25 –
13; 25/26 – 13: 26/27 – 15; 27/28 – 18.
The school has recently had recruitment and retention difficulties
and there are financial concerns
