Proposed Introduction of Waiting Restrictions - Main Street, Welburn

Decision Maker: Corporate Director of Environment

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Decision:

The proposed waiting restrictions in the village of Welburn as advertised are implemented by making of a Traffic Regulation Order under the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984.

The objectors are notified of the decision within 14 days of the Order being made.

Reasons for the decision:

It is considered that the Parish Council has been diligent in its approach and has considered the impact parking restrictions would have on all areas of the village. The proposals as submitted by the Parish Council are fair, measured and have been produced following a thorough and diligent consultation.

It is considered that the proposals are proportionate and still leave adequate on street parking throughout the village for visitors to facilities and the wider surroundings.

Alternative options considered:

To only introduce waiting restrictions around the junctions with Water Lane and Church Lane and omit the restrictions on main Street in the centre of the village.
