Decision:

To re-procure the service to provide Independent Persons, Independent Investigating Officers and Independent Stage 3 Panellists and Chairs, in accordance with The Children Act 1989 Representations Procedure (England) Regulations 2006, which will enable the Council to fulfil its statutory obligations in relation to Children’s Statutory Complaints.

Reasons for the decision:

The Council has statutory obligations in relation to the investigation of Children’s Social Care complaints under the Children Act 1989 Representations Procedure (England) Regulations 2006.
The current contract to provide independent officers/people and/or Panellists expires on 31 August 2024.
The Supplier will assist the Council in meeting its obligations under the aforementioned legislation.
The Contract will be for a period of 36 months (3 years) with an option to extend for a further period of 24 months (2 years). Therefore, the total possible Contract duration is 60 months. The anticipated annual Contract value is £27,000 (Exc. VAT) therefore the anticipated value of the Contract is £135,000 (Exc. VAT)
