Following an open procurement exercise, Thomas Armstrong proved to be the lowest price compliant bid for the scheme. Thomas Armstrong has undertaken several high-profile schemes for the council and produced excellent results.
Delaying the scheme until next year runs the risk of further deterioration of the bridge structure. Widening the bridge would significantly increase the cost of repairs, this project. is considered the most cost-effective use of the bridge repair budget.
