Decision details

The current insurance broker contract is for the period of two years from 1st January 2021 with the option to extend for one year, plus one year, plus one year to 31st December 2025. A decision has been taken to extend the broker contract with Marsh for the final year from 1st January 2025 to 31st December 2025.

This is the last extension in the current contract with the broker and the contract is going well, with no issues and the insurances for the new Council are still bedding in. We will work with Procurement Service to re-tender for the broker contract next year.

The only alternative is to retender the insurance broker contract, however, the current contract is going well. The Insurance and Risk Management Service has been going through a restructure and bedding in the insurances for the new Council this year, and it was considered that it would not be a good use of resources and time to retender for this service this year.
