Purpose:

The purpose of this report is to submit an Expression of Interest for additional funding from the Local Authority Housing Fund.
The additional funding has been released by MHCLG to enable Local Authorities to deliver more homes both for Refugee Resettlement Schemes and for the provision of Temporary Accommodation.
The decision required is to approve submission of the Expression of Interest for additional funding from MCHLG.

Decision:

Approval has been granted to submit an Expression of Interest to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government for additional funding of up to £2.235 million from the Local Authority Housing Fund Round 3.

Reasons for the decision:

To enable the Council to access additional funding, which will support the acquisition of further properties both for temporary accommodation for homeless households and for Afghan households through the Afghan Refugee Resettlement Scheme.
