Purpose:

To consider a variation to the current discretionary general licence fees.

Decision:

The proposed variation to fees and charges in Appendix A to the report relating to the Council’s scrap metal, sex establishments, animal welfare, street trading and gambling licensing functions, effective from 01 April 2025, are approved.

Reasons for the decision:

The Council is expected to conduct regular reviews of licence fees to ensure that, where statutory powers exist, the cost of the licensing regime is recovered from applicants and licence holders.

Alternative options considered:

Consideration was given to retaining the existing licence fees but this option was rejected.
