Decision:

The Housing Standards Team seeks approval to procure a contract for the replacement of kitchens and bathrooms within North Yorkshire Council’s domestic social housing stock.

The contract will run for an initial period of two years with the option to extend for two additional 12-month periods (1 + 1 years).

The replacement Kitchen and bathrooms contract will initially serve both Selby and RiDC, as neither currently has a formal agreement in place.

The former Harrogate area will be incorporated into this contract in the future. The existing Harrogate contract expires in September 2025, with a possible 12-month extension. Prior to any extension decision, a determination will be made regarding the amalgamation of the Harrogate area into the new Selby and RiDC contract.

Reasons for the decision:

Due to specialist nature of the work. It is only appropriate to engage with an external contract, who has the capacity and experience to manage and deal with our legal obligations to comply with all relevant regulations and standards, including Decent Homes.

Alternative options considered:

Our own IHMT do not have the capacity to carry out work of this nature.
