To agree the carry-over funding for 2015/16 and the 2016/17
Highways Capital Programme.
To facilitate delivery of the Highways Capital Programme.
The County Council’s strategic approach
is to prioritise highway maintenance on the County’s heavily
used roads in order to halt further deterioration on this element
of the network. For the lesser used, lower category roads,
treatment types are applied that keep this part of the network in a
safe condition. For the LTP funding allocation, this strategic
approach was tested and considered still to be fit for
purpose.
When setting the headline allocations in January and February 2015,
alternative scenarios were tested for allocating the NYCC Match
Funding and proposed Local Growth Fund in 2016/17. In line with
earlier proposals for the LGF, the additional funding made
available from the Council’s General Working Balance and LGF
will be used to target the condition of the rural road network,
which serves key growth centres across the County.
