To approve and adopt the Safeguarding Procedure for the Housing Service and proceed with implementation.

Reasons for the decision:

Implementing this procedure will improve practice and governance within the service relating to responding to safeguarding concerns. It will also help us to gain accreditation through the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA).

Alternative options considered:

Take no action – rejected as we need to improve practice within the service.
Implement a Corporate Safeguarding Procedure – rejected as there is no appetite to carry out this cross-directorate work at the current time.
