To allow a Discretionary Top Up Grant of £44,951.79 to enable a ground floor extension to provide a separate bedroom and bathroom for a disabled child along with a specialist bath and ramp. Total value of the adaptations will be over £50K with the mandatory and discretionary funding in place.
Further to a Consultation carried out with the Disabled Adaptations Advisory Group on 24/02/2026 it was agreed that these works were required to enable the provision of an additional bedroom and bathroom. These works will enable the child to be cared for in the home and maintain safety.
Due to the constraints of the property this is the most effective option.
