Contract for the provision of Therapeutic Support to Adopters and Adoptees

Decision Maker: Corporate Director Children and Young People's Services

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

To seek approval for the procurement of a new contract for the provision of Therapeutic support to Adopters and Adoptees to commence 1 April 2022

Decision:

That the Authority carry out an Open Procurement process under the Light-Touch Regime for the re-tendering of the Approved Providers List for Therapeutic Services. The estimated contract value will be in the region of £25million over a proposed 5-year duration.

Reasons for the decision:

The Approved Providers List for Therapeutic Services provides authorities across the Yorkshire and Humber region with a compliant route to commission therapeutic providers to support eligible adoptive and special guardianship order families who may be at risk of placement breakdown or at crisis point. Any commissioned therapeutic work is wholly funded by the Adoption Support Fund, which was put in place by Government. The Approved providers list is administrated and contract managed by North Yorkshire County Councils Procurement and Contract Management service on behalf of the Yorkshire and Humber region.
