1.

That pursuant to the provisions of Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972, the title of Honorary Alderman of North Yorkshire County Council be conferred posthumously upon John Blackie

In recognition of the eminent service rendered by him to the North Yorkshire County Council as a County Councillor from 1997 to 2019.

 

On the approval of the motion the Honorary Alderman’s Badge of Office and Illuminated Address will be presented by the Chairman of the County Council to Jill McMullon.

 

2.

That pursuant to the provisions of Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972, the title of Honorary Alderman of North Yorkshire County Council be conferred upon Peter Sowray MBE

In recognition of the eminent service rendered by him to the North Yorkshire County Council as a County Councillor from 1989 to 2022.

 

On the approval of the motion the Honorary Alderman’s Badge of Office and Illuminated Address will be presented by the Chairman of the County Council.

 

Response by Peter Sowray MBE.

That pursuant to the provisions of Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972, the title of Honorary Alderman of North Yorkshire County Council be conferred upon Cliff Trotter

In recognition of the eminent service rendered by him to the North Yorkshire County Council as a County Councillor from 1997 to 2022.

 

On the approval of the motion the Honorary Alderman’s Badge of Office and Illuminated Address will be presented by the Chairman of the County Council.

 

Response by Cliff Trotter.

That pursuant to the provisions of Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972, the title of Honorary Alderman of North Yorkshire County Council be conferred upon Helen Swiers

In recognition of the eminent service rendered by her to the North Yorkshire County Council as a County Councillor from 2001 to 2022.

 

On the approval of the motion the Honorary Alderman’s Badge of Office and Illuminated Address will be presented by the Chairman of the County Council.

5.

That pursuant to the provisions of Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972, the title of Honorary Alderman of North Yorkshire County Council be conferred upon Caroline Patmore

In recognition of the eminent service rendered by her to the North Yorkshire County Council as a County Councillor from 1997 to 2022.

 

The title of Honorary Alderman is being conferred in her absence.  Arrangements will be put in place for the Honorary Alderman’s Badge of Office and Illuminated Address to be presented by the Chairman of the County Council at a later date.

6.

That pursuant to the provisions of Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972, the title of Honorary Alderman of North Yorkshire County Council be conferred upon Val Arnold

In recognition of the eminent service rendered by her to the North Yorkshire County Council as a County Councillor from 2001 to 2022.

 

The title of Honorary Alderman is being conferred in her absence.  Arrangements will be put in place for the Honorary Alderman’s Badge of Office and Illuminated Address to be presented by the Chairman of the County Council at a later date.

7.

The Chairman of the County Council will then declare the Extraordinary Meeting of the Council closed

All present will be asked to stand as the Chairman’s procession leaves the Chamber.
