Application for a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Dual Drivers Licence Minutes: The Corporate Director – Environment asked the Sub-Committee to consider whether an application for a hackney carriage and private hire dual drivers licence should be granted or refused. The Sub-Committee considered the following: ·
The meeting papers, including a report from the
Licensing Enforcement Officer and written representations from and on behalf of
the applicant ·
Oral evidence from the Licensing Enforcement Officer
·
Oral evidence from the applicant ·
Oral evidence from the Resettlement Refugee Employability Officer The matter was stood down for 1 hour to allow the applicant the
opportunity to retrieve the documentation they had referred to from home and
subsequently resumed. Decision The
sub-committee were satisfied, on the information presented, that the applicant
was a fit and proper person within the meaning of sections 51 and 59 of the
Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976. Therefore, the sub-committee was persuaded by the
applicant that an exception to the policy should be made and the
application for the grant of a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire dual driver’s licence was therefore GRANTED. |
