Scrutiny
Committees represent the interests of local people about important
issues that affect them. They look at how the decisions, policies
and services of the Council and other key public agencies impact on
the area and on residents. Scrutiny Committees do not take
decisions but can make recommendations to decision-makers about how
they are delivering on objectives.
Scrutinises the Council’s
corporate organisation and structure, resource allocation, asset
management, procurement policy, equalities, people strategy,
performance management and the implementation of corporate
initiatives. Also, partnership working, community development,
community engagement, community strategies and community safety.
The Committee also serves as the Crime and Disorder Committee for
the purposes of Part 3 of the Police and Justice Act
2006.
There is
currently a Unaffiliated Independent vacant seat on this
Committee.
