Application to Sport England’s Swimming
Pool Support Fund for swimming pools in North Yorkshire.
The scheme is designed to support swimming pools that continue to
be affected by significant rises in utility costs and swimming pool
chemical costs. In phase 1 of the scheme £20million is
available to support swimming pools that are at risk of closure or
have had to significantly reduce their service provision. Phase 2
of the scheme, includes £40million for capital investment in
to energy saving systems. There are x16 Council owned swimming
pools in North Yorkshire, however the funding process requires both
Council and Community/Charity owned swimming pools to form a
collective application for each Council area.
Phase 1 of the scheme is now open and the application submission
window is 4th -11th August, funding will be awarded between
£10,000 - £500,000 as a whole (per authority) and
decisions will be confirmed in September 2023. It is proposed that
an application is submitted for all North Yorkshire owned swimming
pools and community/charity partner swimming pools.
