Application to Sport England’s Swimming
Pool Support Fund #2 for swimming pools in North Yorkshire.
Phase #2 of this scheme is designed to support investment into
energy saving systems for swimming pools. The £40million
capital programme is available to all public swimming pools in the
UK and funding will be awarded between
£20,000-£1,000,000 per council area.
There are x16 Council owned swimming pools in North Yorkshire,
however, the funding process requires both Council and
Community/Charity owned swimming pools to form a collective
application for each Council area. The application process requires
detailed technical building and plant information for each swimming
pool and there is stringent criteria guidance that may preclude
some swimming pools, the eligibility of each North Yorkshire owned
swimming pool is currently being assessed.
It is proposed that an application is submitted for eligible North
Yorkshire owned swimming pools and community/charity partner
swimming pools before the 17th October 2023 application submission
deadline.
