To seek permission to submit a bid application
for up to £1,000,000 plus a 5% contribution from the Council
to the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Application deadline is 7
March 2025.
Our proposal focuses on revitalising underutilised green spaces
within Scarborough's Castle Ward—areas of significant social
and economic deprivation—by enhancing biodiversity,
encouraging community engagement, and preserving the town's rich
cultural and natural heritage. Through partnerships with
organisations like Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and English Heritage,
we aim to transform these spaces into thriving community assets,
delivering sustainable environmental improvements while empowering
local residents with skills in stewardship and conservation.
