To approve the Leasehold Policy for North Yorkshire Council, which sets out a consistent and transparent county-wide approach to the Council’s arrangements with leaseholders in its capacity as a landlord. The policy provides clarity of rights, responsibilities and statutory obligations to ensure fair and effective management of leasehold properties.

Consultation process

Consultation will be undertaken through targeted engagement with internal services and leaseholders. Internal services will be consulted to review the draft Leasehold Policy, assess operational impacts and ensure legal and statutory compliance. In addition, a focus group will be held with leaseholders to gather feedback on the policy and their experiences.
